Dr Abilash Haridas is a Double Board-Certified Neurosurgeon who practices in Los Angeles. He specializes in the treatment of brain and spine disorders. He is the CEO and founder of Astra Neurosurgical Institute in Los Angeles and specializes in complex brain and spine surgery.
Dr Haridas began his career in General Surgery at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York. He moved to Boston to join the Harvard Neurosurgery program where his neurosurgery journey began. He moved to New York City for his Neurosurgery Residency at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital. He pursued a Pediatric Neurosurgery fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago followed by a Complex Cerebrovascular fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He is one of few neurosurgeons in the country who has undergone dual fellowships in these neurosurgical specialties.
Dr Haridas has been active in neurosurgery since 2005 and continues to promote education and innovation both at the national and international level. He has been an invited speaker to Finland, Japan, India, , and several US cities. He is especially passionate about collaborating with colleagues around the globe in the advancement of the neurosciences.
Dr Haridas is a member of the American Association Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Noth American Skull Base Society, and the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT). He is the 22ND President for SBMT and is also on the organizational board for The Brain Technology and Innovation Park in Los Angeles
